Customer Circumstances
Mr Hershey suffered water damage to the entire ground floor of his property due to a flood. The customer required a Modular Living pod for himself and his elderly parents to enable the removal of an asbestos floor covering and to dry the property. The requirement was at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic and Mr Hershey’s parents were considered vulnerable customers requiring them to self-isolate which meant alternative hotel accommodation was not an option.
TSG Solution
A site visit was organised the next day and established that a 12m x 3m Modular Bungalow could be built on the available space at the property (5×3 lounge/diner, 3m x 3m bedroom, 2m x 3m bedroom, 2m x 3m bathroom with a 3m x 1m link corridor). Delivery of the Modular Living facility took place in less than 10 days and construction only took 4 days, only requiring access to the main property on 1 day when all Covid protocols were followed. TSG were also on hand to help move some of the customers larger furniture – beds, sofa, table into the bungalow reducing the need for additional storage.
Due to the pandemic, there were a number of delays to the repair works which resulted in the Modular Bungalow being required for just over 7 months.
